8th Grade Campus Visit Grants - 2018-19
Brief Description:
EducationQuest provides funding to Nebraska schools to coordinate college campus visits for 8th grade students. The funds are also used to help eighth graders explore careers and complete other activities that increase the likelihood they will go to college.
EducationQuest will provide up to $500 to each school. A school may request additional funding
(up to a maximum of $750)
if the nearest Nebraska college is a significant distance from the school, or if the school plans to serve a significant number of students. Schools may use funds for expenses related to visiting a Nebraska college campus. Activities associated with expenses include transportation, meals and substitute pay.
EducationQuest will notify all applicants of their funding status by October 1, 2018.

, you can apply for funding to cover the cost of a college visit and related activities that will help your students get on the path to college.
Eligibility
This grant is open to any Nebraska public or private school that is approved or accredited to offer educational instruction by the Nebraska Department of Education.
Requirements:
Visit a Nebraska college or university: Your students
must visit at least one Nebraska college or university
. Students
may
also visit a business that is on the way to the college that would provide information about careers and the educational requirements.
(Visiting a business is an optional activity.)
Explore careers: Help students
explore careers
that require a 2-year or 4-year college education.

to help students understand how choices they make in high school will impact their future.
Report on the grant activities. This includes a student survey, final program report, and budget report.
Allowable expenses include:
Meals
: up to $8/person maximum
Transportation
: your school’s standard busing rate or $0.54/mile for a personal vehicle
Substitute pay
: daily or hourly rate for your district not to exceed $150 per substitute teacher per day.
